Dream Description

This is a film about Dream Description- Filmed by Sam Higgins, Matthew Trowell, Natalie-Joy Docker.
This brief was given to us on the 14th october by paul, and we had the choice to drop one of our other projects and hand this in with our 1st assignment. I felt it would be a lot easier to drop my film homage and hand this film in instead.
This was a one day project and we had 3 hours to film, 1 hour to edit, and an hour to get all our research together and plan what we were going to do.
Initially we were going to do a dream of mine, but we couldn't get the shots of what happened in my dream to show the re-inactment of it, because there were famous people and dead people etc...
So we decided to go with richard's idea of how he felt that he couldn't breathe and he was panicking around burton town.

Unfortunately i cannot find the dream group on vimeo, but i can remember the videos that we had watched before, so i am going to describe some of the video's that we had watched.
We watched the winning video of the weekend project which was a foreign girl who was describing her dream of how she was in a train station. 
The film was not edited, in anyway and there wasn't any cut aways to re-inact the film.
It was also filmed in black and white and had subtitles so even english viewers could watch, she was also laid on her side and she was wearing a black top so it was easier to see the subtitles.


I felt that she could've filmed it a lot better by adding cutaways, for example she could've shot the train station because it would break up the interview and would've been a lot more interesting to the viewer, it was a sort of dream diary so maybe she didn't have enough time to film the rest of the footage.


i found her video enchanting because it was filmed in black and white, her foreign language added a magical touch too.


I feel that our film is a lot more descriptive and you actually see what Richard was dreaming about, because we had cut aways that mimicked his dream. 
we also added music too, this added another dimension to our film.
